- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
After having been in the possession of my car for 2 weeks, it went into a "bricked" mode where it could not be started. The only fix was for it to be towed to a dealer who was able to disconnect the 12V battery and reconnect it. This allowed it to run but in a reduced capacity. One week later, it was bricked again. I had it towed to another dealership who replaced that battery. The battery was faulty and was causing the car to not get receive updates. Since then, this issue has happened one more time and I was able to "reset" the car by walking away for 15 minutes, allowing the computer to turn off then try again.

Vehicle has a number of safety issues. Vehicle locks up while driving creating a safety issue its potential crash, seats automatically go back when released forward for rear passenger to enter pinning rear passenger while trying to enter or exit vehicle. Car also has had several instances where it accelerates while breaking. Car is currently at dealership for diagnostic
- UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
While driving today I came to a stop sign, stopped. Proceeded to go and the Forward collision camera and surround camera kicked on and played a tone with nothing in front of me. Then as I proceeded to get up to speed the cameras and surround would not shut off. Or allow me to exit the screen. The camera finally shut off after about 10-15 minutes of driving at highway speeds. This is not the first time this vehicle has done this.

[XXX] [XXX] , [XXX] 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T (EV) (VIN: [XXX] Dick Poe Dodge, El Paso, Texas on XXX and is financed through XXX, El Paso (loan #60486681). Since owning this car, I have experienced frequent software related problems of which has left me stranded (3) three times with one time requiring a tow to the dealership for service. As well, my Charger has been in the shop 6 times for both software related and part failure related issues. The list of parts to date that have required replacement are: 120V battery and amp for factory exhaust system. Software related problems have included: not starting, not recognizing key fob to enter vehicle, vehicle error and check engine light and other warning lights such as the SOS system being offline. It has bricked 4 times. It has also made unexplained noises such as a knocking noise on start up which the manufacture said was normal, but the dealership service department didn’t agree. The Dick Poe Service Departments communication with Stellantis engineers have fixed each software and part issue only to have the same issues present themselves weeks and months at a time. I am a [XXX] XXX. The constant problems with this vehicle have worsened my PTDS symptoms due to the constant issues, problems, and required work. Vehicle is currently at Dick Poe Dodge Jeep Service this morning (6/1/2026) because the vehicle will not charge as well as not recognizing the key fob for entry/ exit, software updates, and an instrument cluster recall. - ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I am filing a safety complaint regarding my vehicle due to repeated mechanical failures that have caused it to become unreliable and unsafe. My vehicle has experienced ongoing issues despite multiple repair attempts. Most recently, the vehicle broke down again and left me stranded while I was transporting my mother to a critical cancer appointment and the 1st time had me stranded on the highway late at night. This situation created a serious safety concern, as we were left stuck in the vehicle without reliable transportation for the 3rd time. This is not an isolated incident. The vehicle has previously been in the repair shop for an extended period (over 50 days), for a separate issue that has been resolved. Despite these repeated failures and loss of use, the manufacturer, Stellantis, has declined a buyback request. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle due to its unpredictability and repeated breakdowns. This poses a risk not only to myself and my passengers but potentially to others on the road. I am requesting that this issue be investigated as a potential safety defect.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The vehicle was completely dead on the morning of 2/24/2026. Following the proper jumping procedure, the vehicle was jumped to restore power. A message on the dash stated to "check charging system". This message is generic in nature and usually indicates a 12V battery problem. The vehicle was left on and then plugged in to a Level 2 EV charger. The vehicle then caught fire and destroyed our detached garage. Stellantis did send an independent investigator who indicated that the fire likely started on the front right of the vehicle. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? UKNOWN How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Vehicle caught fire with no warning. If our garage was not detached, we would have lost our home. Others are at risk if this is a design defect. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? UNKNOWN - Vehicle was totaled Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Insurance, Fire, and Stellantis (private third party investigator). Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Vehicle was without power/no start. Vehicle was jumped per manual. Displayed "Check Charging System" and a "red wrench" icon. No other indications that a serious fault was in process.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES
In early September 2025, I leased a 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV. Unfortunately, the vehicle has already been in the dealership service department three separate times since I took delivery. The first two service visits occurred after the vehicle completely bricked and would not turn on. I was informed that the vehicle’s electronic module required updating and that the batteries had repeatedly died. Most recently, the situation has escalated to a significant safety concern. Earlier this week, the vehicle began shaking and intermittently accelerating and decelerating on its own while in operation(I have video proof of this) This behavior poses a serious danger to me and to others on the road. Due to these ongoing issues, I filed a formal complaint with Stellantis and was assigned case number [XXX]. I have been working with Stellantis representative Steve Stander; however, communication has been extremely difficult. Unfortunately, Mr. Stander has not been responsive to phone calls or emails in a timely manner, which has made resolving this matter challenging. At this time, the vehicle is once again in the shop, leaving me without transportation. During our last discussion, Mr. Stander acknowledged that Stellantis understands the vehicle is not dependable and offered $10,000 in down payment assistance along with employee pricing on a new Stellantis product. However, I currently still owe approximately $3,400 on the lease. Given the serious safety issues and repeated failures of the vehicle, I am requesting Stellantis’ assistance in grounding the lease and covering the remaining $3,400 balance so that I may exit this lease. I also previously sent Mr. Stander a video clearly showing the vehicle accelerating on its own to document the issue. I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this matter as quickly as possible. It is urgent that I be able to safely exit this vehicle situation. I was sitting at an exit from a store waiting to pull out into an intersection. Full foot on the brake, and I know for certain I wasn't accidentally hitting the accelerator because on the first "jump" I checked to make sure. It lurched through the brakes multiple times bucking like a cammed car would. Then threw all these warning lights, turtle icon came up saying speed limited, and the collision lights came on as well as traction control was disabled. Shut off and wouldn't power back on for a few minutes leaving the entire front half of my car sitting in oncoming traffic. I've had this issue since day one. At first I thought it was from having the seats back in the furthest most position, but after testing its not. One of my friends legs got caught when trying to get out causing him to fall. Another's entire body was pinched because they cant get out in under 5 seconds.. If you have children do NOT put them in the back if you are having this issue. There is no safety mechanism in place and you have to way for the seat to go back all the way and reset the setback to get it to move forward again. Quickest solution I've found to get someone out in this situation is to allow it to fully adjust back, and manually adjusting the seat forward. I have not been able to charge the vehicle consistently at any stations since purchase in 8/28. I would get nonstop errors, having to un-plug and re-plug in the vehicle every 5-10%, sometimes not even working at all. I've been left stranded with less than 5% left and when I returned to the dealership to get an emergency charge just to get home they called the police on me and trespassed me from their lot.. I've only been able to get it to work at a tesla charger once. I've used multiple different adapters from Amazon including the Dewalt and Lectron adapters. The only one that's worked so far is the charger in Easton, MD with the magic dock connector already installed.
