• SEATS

  General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Chevrolet Equinox and 2022 GMC Terrain vehicles. The driver's seat may have a stripped or loose bolt at the seat frame height-adjust pivot.

  Remedy: Dealers will inspect the driver's seat and replace the seat cushion frame, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 4, 2022. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GMC's number for this recall is N222377890.

• CHILD SEAT:VEHICLE LATCH ANCHOR

  General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles. The four rear-seat lower child seat LATCH anchorage bars may have excessive powder coating, which could prevent a child seat from being installed with the anchorage bars. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."

  Remedy: Owners are advised to install child seats using the vehicle's rear seat belts until the remedy is complete. Dealers will inspect the latch anchorage bars, and remove and replace the finish, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 2, 2023. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232403240.

• ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VISIBILITY/WIPER

  The vehicle experienced a complete loss of infotainment/audio functions immediately following a GM over-the-air software update. The OnStar indicator turned red, all vehicle audio including turn-signal sounds stopped functioning, and the rear backup camera stopped displaying an image. The backup camera failure creates a safety concern because it eliminates a federally required rear visibility safety feature. GM has advised me that software updates do not cause these problems and instead reveal an underlying issue. However, GM Preliminary Information bulletin PIT5971B identifies a software anomaly associated with loss of audio and a red OnStar LED on affected GMC Terrain vehicles, which closely matches two of my symptoms. I am concerned that a software-related defect may be causing or contributing to the simultaneous loss of multiple vehicle functions, including the backup camera. The loss of the backup camera is a significant safety concern because it prevents me from seeing the area directly behind the vehicle when reversing. The simultaneous loss of multiple functions occurred immediately after the GM software update and has persisted despite completing the recommended reset/troubleshooting procedures. GM is currently requiring me to pay for diagnosis despite the failure occurring immediately after the OTA update. • FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

  The car stalled while traveling down a road. We tried to restart and it would run for a few seconds and stall. We could not restart. There were no warning lights before the stall and after the engine would not run to get any other indicators that something was wrong. Had it towed to dealership, their diagnostic's showed it was a fuel pump driver module. Upon researching the issue, there is a recall for this problem but my VIN was not included in the recall.

  My car stalled and did not want to start. It had to be towed to the nearest GMC dealership. my GMC dealer diagnosed a P129F fuel-pump control-module failure and replaced fuel-pump power control module part number 13554821. I was told that even though there was a recall for 2022 GMC Terrains for this part my VIN number was not included.

  My car wouldn’t start in my driveway.. onstar sent me an email with code P129F ( fuel pump driver control module) failed. I am thankful I wasn’t driving down the highway when it went out. My husband took it to Lexington Park Chevrolet Buick GMC dealership, where we bought the car and they replaced the part. My car only has 41,898 miles. My VIN #: [XXX] , a 2022 GMC Terrain Denali. I noticed online that other 2022 GMC Terrain has a recall on this part, but not my VIN #. I feel my vehicle should also be part of this recall.   Read • 9:59 PM I am formally requesting a VIN eligibility review under GM Customer Assistance Case #XXX. Vehicle: 2022 GMC Terrain VIN: [XXX] DTC: P129F Recall: N252516900 – Fuel Pump Power Control Module I was advised that my VIN is “not included” in the recall. I am requesting that GM reconsider and formally document the basis for that determination. GM’s XXX revision of N252516900-01 states that the phased launch was complete and that all VINs had been placed in an Open status in GM’s Investigate Vehicle History (IVH) system. The bulletin specifically identifies the 2022 GMC Terrain as an affected model. Additionally, GM previously issued engineering information specifically concerning 2022 GMC Terrain vehicles experiencing DTC P129F, including situations involving failure to start and/or stalling. Because my vehicle experienced P129F, I am requesting: A formal VIN eligibility review for N252516900. Confirmation of what GM’s IVH system shows for VIN [XXX]. A written explanation of why my VIN is excluded if GM determines it is not eligible. Documentation of my P129F failure under Case #XXX. Review of whether my vehicle’s failure is consistent with the condition addressed by N252516900. Review of reimbursement eligibility for any qualifying repairs or expenses associated with this failure. Please do not close Case #XXX until this VIN-specific review has been completed and the basis for GM’s determination has been provided. I am requesting that this matter be escalated to the appropriate GM technical/recall authority if Customer Assistance cannot resolve the VIN eligibility issue. Thank you.   SUV shut down when I was driving with no warning. OBD reader Code P129F Fuel pump power control Module is bad GM has recall #N252516900 lists my year and make of my SUV but my VIN# is not included and GMC said that it will not covered because the vin is not on the list.

  My 2022 GMC Terrain left me on the side of the road today with a fuel pump module failure. After having it towed to the dealership I began looking to see if this is a known problem. I see that there was a recall for the 2022 GMC Terrain, but my VIN is not listed on that recall. MY FUEL PUMP MODULE FAILED! I think that my VIN was left off of recall list. GMC should pay to repair this!

  The contact owns a 2022 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road. The “Low Fuel” message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump was inoperable and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,000.

  The contact owns a 2022 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 35 MPH, the contact received an email and text from OnStar with DTC: P129F, and the message to not drive the vehicle was displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump power control module had failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the failure was related to N252516900, a General Motors (GM) emission recall related to the Fuel Pump Power Control Module (FPCM and GM safety recall N222372310 – Inadequate Fuel Pump Flow. The local dealer was contacted, who stated that the fuel pump had failed to meet higher outputs. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there was no coverage on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

  Driving to work and the vehicle suddenly turned off in the middle of the road just as I had turned the corner onto another street leaving me in a dangerous spot. There was no warning lights or anything it just shut off and would not start back up. Sister had to wait with vehicle while brother in law drove me to work. Had to have the vehicle towed to Tinney Chevrolet GMC service department and after they completed their service found out the FUEL PUMP MODULE failed. I was told GMC has open recall for 2022 GMC Terrain on this exact issue but for some reason my VIN number doesn't come from the HUB they issued the recall from? I find it suspicious my vehicle had the exact same part fail and left me in a dangerous situation with traffic coming around the corner as well as the inconvenience of family having to come take me to work and sit with my vehicle waiting for the tow truck. I had a bill from the service dept. for this repair of $671.15 and the towing company was $125.00 I would hope GMC would look into the fuel pump module issue for all 2022 GMC Terrain vehicles.

  A diagnostic test was ran on my vehicle and the only code that came back was issues with my fuel pump system. A recall for the issue is in place. However, my VIN number is not included. I took the vehicle to the closes GMC dealer and they replaced the fuel pump module. Within 2 weeks, the engine light came back on. I contacted the dealer and was instructed to keep driving the vehicle, the vehicle maybe resetting itself. I did and the engine light went off. Within 2 more weeks, the engine light came back on. I took it to the dealer and now they are telling me I need a new fuel pump. This leads me to believe the problem was not fixed and anything related to the fuel pump should have been examined and/or fixed.

  I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2022 GMC Terrain after experiencing a sudden infotainment system failure that also disabled my backup camera functionality. The infotainment screen in my vehicle suddenly went completely black without warning and without any physical damage to the vehicle. The screen failure caused the backup camera to stop functioning as well, creating a significant safety concern while reversing and parking. The vehicle currently has approximately 50,000 miles. When I contacted the GMC dealership regarding the issue, I was informed that this is a common problem with GMC Terrains. However, because my factory warranty expired only weeks before the failure occurred, GMC declined to provide any financial assistance or goodwill repair coverage despite acknowledging the issue is commonly seen. This defect directly impacts federally required rear visibility safety equipment and creates unnecessary risk to drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and surrounding vehicles. Backup cameras are an essential safety feature, and the sudden failure of the infotainment system removes access to that safety function entirely. I believe this may be a widespread defect involving the infotainment and electrical systems in the 2022 GMC Terrain and request that NHTSA investigate this issue further for potential recall or manufacturer accountability.
