2024 Honda CR-V owner complaints (15)
- STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS
Steering feels sticky/jerky when turning left. Front-left tire outer edge is severely worn down, while other tires are normal. Honda recall 24V744 for steering gearbox was completed, but the problem persists. I suspect the steering rack is defective, causing misalignment and abnormal tire wear. This affects vehicle control and safety.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
2024 Honda CRV. Battery went dead. Air conditioner stopped working. Honda dealership said the compressor is bad. Part is covered by warranty but must use a Honda part. Honda said part is not available nationwide. I live in Florida and temperatures exceeding 90 degrees. No estimated time for delivery.
- STEERING,VISIBILITY/WIPER
The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the recall repair was completed; however, the failure occurred while driving. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and turning, the steering wheel made abnormal sounds, was sticking, and failed to return to center. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that a diagnostic fee was required, and the contact was asked to sign a document. The contact declined to pay the fee or sign the document. Additionally, the contact stated that the windshield wipers were malfunctioning, intermittently moving past the windshield trim and failing to touch the glass while operational. The dealer was notified of the windshield wiper failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
- SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
On August 20, 2026 at approximately 3:45 pm the vehicle slammed on it's brakes unexpectedly with the ACC active. The ACC was set to 45mph as per the speed limit and was traveling at that speed until the brakes suddenly engaged and abruptly reduced the speed to 20mph. It was sunny, 91 degrees there were no cars, obstructions or shadows and the vehicle had been washed and clean 2 days before.
- VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES
Car accelerated unexpectedly when braking at a parking spot. Car accelerated over the curb and hit another car.
- STEERING
Upon driving steering appears normal then starts to feel a little tight as if I was loosing power steering then goes back to normal.
- VISIBILITY/WIPER
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Wiper system malfunctions by allowing driver side wiper to intermittently reach varied end positions, sometimes striking the A-pillar. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request (has been inspected by dealer already). How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? While driving in heavy rain, wiper erratically slamming into A-pillar is distracting and has caused me to try to adjust wiper speed and settings to prevent wiper arm from potentially breaking, which could be dangerous in certain higher speed conditions in heavy rain/low visibility. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, dealer was able to observe/reproduce the highly variable end position of the drivers side wiper. Dealer notes wiper shows up to 6 inch variance in where it stops. They could also see by the wiper marks on the windshield the variation in the end position. However, they compared the wiper function to another CRV and said it seems normal and refused warranty repair because the wiper was not broken or misadjusted at this time. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lamps or messages. Symptom is recurring since purchase of the vehicle. However, the wiper only demonstrates the ability to strike the A-pillar during heavier rain and use of wipers for longer periods (which has not happened frequently during time I've owned/driven vehicle).
- VISIBILITY/WIPER
The windshield wipers and system of water delivery from the blades onto the windshield is a total disaster. You can easily have an accident due to extremely poor visibility after using the windshield wipers to clean the windshield with water, especially if the sun glares on your windshield which is now smeared not clean and reflects and refracts all the smear. You can't see and aggravates the driver. I almost did have an accident. Very scarry to have such poor visibility when you expect to clean your windshield not to smear it! Water is dispersed from the blades way too late in the sequence and the quantities are too small to perform a cleaning, not even a suboptimal one. I asked the dealer to fix the timer and it cannot be done. I also asked to allow more water to be deliver earlier in the sequence and that can't be done either. In addition, the water tank for the window cleaning is way too small as you try to keep cleaning since it only smears. Honda needs to address this issue. I was a Honda enthusiast since the early 90's, but I will never buy a Honda again if they don't change this design which is a total safety hazard. This happens all the time when you try to clean the windshield and it is dry outside. At least when it is raining the rainwater helps. I uploaded some pictures below that shows a “clean” smeared after trying 3 times to clean the windshield using new blades. Extremely unsafe and disappointing of Honda's "new" useless design. They can at least change the software to allow the service dealers to reset the time of the water delivery sequence to be instant when the blade is still down and to have more water be delivered. Currently the water delivery happens only when the blades made it up already, after they already smeared a dry window and in the mean time you lose all the water delivered at the point and the windshield is not clean, but smeared. I am retired engineer by profession and Honda can go back to the design board to come up with a fix.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEAT BELTS,STRUCTURE
On 17 July 2026, I was attempting to park in a handicap parking place at May Washington Hospital Center. The outdoor parking lot is to the right of the hospital entrance and consists of several terraced rows with each terrace a few feet below the one above it. I was halfway into the parking space with my foot on the brake when the car (2024 CRV Hybrid Touring) suddenly accelerated. I pushed the brake pedal but it had no effect. There were no warnings from the safety systems. The front driver side hit a light pole which was the only thing that stopped me from going over the curb completely and dropping down onto the car below. The low speed crash still caused a total loss.
- TIRES
The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V366000 (Tires); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. Two local dealers were contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
- UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The horn on all 2024 Honda CRV’s cannot meet any safefy standards. When honked it sounds like the Looney Tunes Roadrunner! My daughter almost got run off the road this week even though she was honking the horn. Newer models and older models do not have this wimpy horn as this is the third CRV I have owned.
- STEERING
The tire repair kit busted on me and the steering wheel is having problems I'm guessing assuming to the steering box being defective but I've called Clark Knapp Honda and they told me that they couldn't make an appointment with me even though I'm driving around with defective equipment and it's kind of an emergency but they're telling me I have to wait for you guys to send me a letter.
- STEERING
When I bought the car, I noticed that it was drifting and I was having to have steer harder to keep it in the lane and I'm assuming it's contributed to the steering box or the gearbox, where there was a recall and nobody informed me about that and I would like to get that fixed as soon as possible but Clark not Honda in Pharr Texas keeps on telling me that they don't have appointments and that they're giving me the runaround. That's very dangerous as I have children in my car all the time. Thank you
- VISIBILITY/WIPER
Windshield wiper washer does not properly clean the windshield. Holding the wiper stalk in the spray position , the spray only squirts for a sec or so as the wiper blade is vertical . Not enough cleaning solution is deposited in the correct location to clean the windshield. All other vehicles I have owned spray solution the entire duration of the wiper stalk being in the spray position. This is the best way to insure that the windshield is properly cleaned for safe viewing.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
My 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid experienced a severe total electrical failure that required a complete battery replacement. This massive electrical surge permanently damaged and corrupted the vehicle's infotainment head unit hardware. Ever since this power surge, the vehicle suffers from continuous, dangerous electronic malfunctions. Specifically, the Apple CarPlay and complete audio system intermittently freeze, crash, and shut down completely while operating the vehicle at highway speeds. This instantly cuts off all live GPS navigation, map access, and critical audible and visual vehicle notifications. Even more dangerously, this hardware corruption has caused multiple false activations of the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), where the vehicle abruptly triggers sudden automatic emergency braking alerts with no obstacles present, creating an imminent risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. Apple Authorized Service Providers have run full hardware diagnostics on my personal smartphone and issued official certificates proving the device has 100% zero defects. Honda Corporate has also explicitly admitted in writing via official chat and email logs that the CarPlay system defect exists on their vehicle's side, yet they claim it is not covered under warranty. Multiple dealerships have actively engaged in constructive refusal to repair. Technicians continuously deflect the blame to my smartphone on paperwork to avoid opening a formal warranty Repair Order, even after I performed complete factory resets on both the vehicle and the device. Under Corporate orders to meet a Service Manager at a different dealership, I scheduled a manager appointment for 11:15 AM. However, the manager intentionally hid and fled the building to evade the scheduled inspection, leaving a severely defective and structurally unsafe vehicle on public roads.
