2015 Mazda Mazda6 recalls (3)

  • PARKING BRAKE

Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Mazda6 and 2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles. Water could possibly enter the brake caliper causing the parking brake actuator shaft to corrode and possibly bind.

Remedy: Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will check the parking brake actuator shafts, replacing any that are corroded, free of charge. Remedy parts are currently unavailable. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk were mailed August 24, 2017. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500. Mazda's number for this recall is 1217F.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ALTERNATOR/GENERATOR/REGULATOR

Mazda North America Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain model year 2014 Mazda3 vehicles manufactured June 12, 2013, through December 18, 2013, and model year 2014-2015 Mazda6 vehicles manufactured May 20, 2013, through December 4, 2013, and both equipped with a 2.5L engine and a regenerative engine braking system. When driving the affected vehicles in heavy rain or in deep puddles, the alternator belt may slip causing the Power Control module (PCM) to incorrectly assume failure of the charging system.

Remedy: Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the PCM with updated software, free of charge. The recall began on May 19, 2014. Owners may contact Mazda at 1-800-222-5500. Mazda's number for this recall is 7314D.

  • TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS

Mazda North American Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Mazda6 vehicles manufactured October 25, 2012, to October 10, 2014. If the pressures of four of the tires on an affected vehicle gradually drop at the same time, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may not warn the driver of the drop in pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring System."

Remedy: Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will update the TPMS software, free of charge. The recall began on December 10, 2014. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500.

  • SERVICE BRAKES

    See attached document for complaint.

  • AIR BAGS

Hi, car was involved in a small fender bender. Airbags were NOT deployed. However, an error code 19 (B0001) came on the dash related to driver side sensor. If not fixed, airbags will not deploy in case of accident and that puts me and my family in danger. Dealer won't service the vehicle because it has more than 100,000 miles (122,000 miles to be exact on my car). Other mechanics won't touch the airbag system. What am I supposed to do as the car is not safe to be driven and dealer refusing to help.

  • SUSPENSION,POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

My RPM'S reaved up real high while driving 60mph and all the sudden the car down shifted and I had to put car in neutral in order maintain control. The traction control light and heck engine lights came on same time, lost power to the car the navigation and radio and dash lights, had no power to drive train, had vechile dinogstic check done at O'Reilly auto and they told me it was a PCM power control module. And I called the mazda dealer in Fostoria ohio the macanhic told me the PCM power control module had been reprogram and I never received no notice on any recalls or the person I bought my car never either. My car is 7 years old and if it war reprogram it should not go bad that soon. Unless there is a problem with there components there using. But my car will cause a accident if I continue to drive it. I like my mazda6 2015 but I'm afraid after having the car doing what it did to me on the highway. I had no warning lights come on until the day I was driving down the highway when this problem occurred.

  • SUSPENSION,POWER TRAIN,STRUCTURE

Premature sub-frame corrosion front and rear due to road salt and poor part finishing affecting most underbody components. All exposed stamped structural sub-frame components rusting at weld locations. Critical parts with severe rust and imminent failure: Lower Rear Control Arms (Left & Right), Rear Stabilizer Links (Left & Right). Potentially hazardous corrosion on Front Lower Control Arms. Rear Cross-member rusting at all weld locations. Cat. Sensor Protector Shield has disintegrated. Available for inspection upon request. Failure has not happened yet, but when it does vehicle control will be compromised. Dealer identified problems 12/18/21 and recommended/quoted repair. Vehicle inspected by dealer only. No indicator warnings exist for structural corrosion.

  • SERVICE BRAKES

Mazda recalled the problem with the emergency brake(recall1217F) .The dealership did some cosmetic fix that did not prevent it from happening. The emergency brake when applied activated a lever when the brake is released the lever returns to it's original position. The recall was supposed to address the corrosion on the lever shaft that causes it to stick and not release the brake.

  • STEERING

WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 MAZDA 6 GT, WITH 40,0000 MILES ON IT, ON A MAIN LOCAL ROAD, WITH A MAX SPEED LIMIT REQUIREMENT OF 45 MPH, I ATTEMPTED TO TURN INTO THE RIGHT TURN LANE AT A SPEED OF APPROX 35 MPH, WHILE LIGHTLY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE. AS I BEGAN TO TURN, THE STEERING JUST LOCKED UP, AND THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. A FEW DASHBOARD LIGHTS ALSO CAME ON AT THE SAME TIME.. ONE SAID POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION, THE OTHER WAS A RED HAZARD SYMBOL, AND I DON'T SPECIFICALLY RECALL THE OTHER. I FINALLY SHUT THE CAR OFF AFTER A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR, AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS THE WHEEL REGAINED MOBILITY AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS WENT OFF. I CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY DROVE MY CAR HOME, APRROX 2 MILES FROM WHERE IT HAPPENED. I HAVEN'T DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE, DUE TO FEAR OF IT HAPPENING AGAIN. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED TWICE WHEN IT HAPPENED.

  • POWER TRAIN

AUDIBLE WHINE FROM TRANSMISSION WHEN IN MOTION. I CAN'T RECREATE THE NOISE WHEN STOPPED OR IN NEUTRAL AND CAN BE HEARD WHEN IN DRIVING AND PICKING UP SPEED.

  • SUSPENSION

MY VEHICLE HAS HAD STRANGE GRUNTING, SQUEAKING, POPPING NOISES COMING FROM THE FRONTEND, PARTICULARLY THE DRIVERS SIDE. IT HAS HAD THIS ISSUE SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN JUNE 2017. THE NOISE SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN DRIVING OVER SMALL BUMPS. IT'S VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN I BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I HAVE ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE WITH THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED MY CAR FROM. THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS EXACT ISSUE AND FOUND THERE IS A TSB FOR THE SUSPENSION ISSUE I'M DESCRIBING. I'M JUST GETTING WORRIED ABOUT MY SAFETY. I'M AFRAID SOMETHING WILL FAIL AND I FEEL IT'S THE MANUFACTURERS RESPONSIBILITY TO CORRECT THIS UNSAFE ISSUE WITH THE SUSPENSION THAT AFFECTING MANY OTHER MAZDA 6 VEHICLES.
